From the Nliven admin home page, click the "Sell Tickets" tab in the left-hand navigation menu.
The "Sell Tickets" tab: is used for placing orders at the POS (PointOfSale). Here you will see all seat types available for purchase. This includes open inventory and any holds the user has access to. Several seats from different performance dates/times can be added into the same basket and reservations can be made using the “Saved Baskets” functionality.
To begin an internal order: Click the blue "Sell Tickets" button on the event series/event template that you would like to purchase tickets for.
Seat Map Page

Select the customer's desired performance date and time from the event list (above left) or by selecting the calendar view on the left-hand side of the screen.

A dot on a date/time confirms a performance/event has been set up for that date.

The dot's color (green, yellow, or red) represents the event’s availability regarding the ticket availability traffic light key: Good, Medium, Low.

Select a performance date to be taken to the Seat Map page.
Choose a method to select a seat by clicking one of the options below. Tab appears on the top right-hand side of the page.

Shop by Seat Map: This option allows you to click on any seat on the auditorium map.

Heavy On Sale: This option will select the best available seats based on the quantity needed and maximum price per ticket selection.

Find Best Seats: this will show you the best available seats at each price level, based on the number of tickets you need.
Shop by Seat Map
Here you will see all available seat types. This includes opens and any holds the user has access to. Click on individual seats, apply filters to specifically view only open inventory or holds or any other configured seat type. Use the promotions drop-down to view seats available for promotions configured on the Event Template.
Opens or individual holds: can be deselected to hide them from view in the map by clicking on the "All seat types selected" drop-down menu.
"No Promotions" drop-down menu: Next to the Seat Type drop-down, you will see a drop-down menu that says “No promotion”. Here you can select to view seats available for promotions configured on the Event Template. Promotion access can be configured in User Groups. Further details on promos are provided on the Create/Edit Promos in an Event Template page.
Status drop-down menu: Here you can view statuses of seats. The icons correspond with the seats they are assigned to on the map. For example, Sold, Comp, Inquiry etc.
Edit drop-down menu: This edit drop-down (top of the screen) allows Nliven Admin, Event Admin, or Box Office Supervisors to switch from selling inventory to editing inventory within an event. By selecting one of the options the user can edit “Holds", "Price Levels", "Accessible Seating" and “Tags” for this performance. Further details are provided on the Edit Prices, Holds, Accessible Labels, or Tags in an Event page.
Hovering over a seat: A modal displays information attached to the seat (Price Level, Status, Hold, etc.). Hit the "i" key on your keyboard while hovering over a seat, to see further information such as Customer and Order information for a sold seat. A hyperlink to customer records is also provided. Further details on Orders and Customers are provided on the Customer Management page. Sale Alerts and Types are also displayed. Further details are provided on the Create/Edit Seat Settings - Holds, Seat Alerts & Sale Types page.
Seats Stuck in Inquiry
Occasionally seats get stuck in inquiry status without being associated with an in-progress web or Saved Basket. Admins and Box Office Supervisors have the ability to release these seats using the black tool tip on the Sell Tickets map. These seats are displayed with a pink dotted line around them. Check that the seat status is labeled as inquiry and not reserved.
Note: If seats are stuck in inquiry status for more than 20 mins without an associated basket, Nliven will return them to either opens or Hold status depending on status before being added to a basket.

Hover over the seat and press ‘i’; next to the seat status you’ll see an action to ‘Release seat’.

Once clicked you’ll be asked to confirm the release of the seat.
Ability to release Seats in Inquiry Status
This functionality allows a user to release seats that are currently in Inquiry Status but have not yet completed their purchase. For example, a Box Office User may release an inquiry basket started via the Web sales channel to accommodate a guest who has walked up to purchase seats before a performance. Enablement for this feature is controlled by settings within User Groups.

View from Seat
The View from Seat feature is additional to the basic Nliven set up. If you would like to discuss adding it for your venue(s) please contact nlivensupport@tixtrack.com for further information.
This functionality is displayed when hovering over a seat to see a real-life view of the stage from the selected seat, when applicable.
To select seats from the map: Click individual seats or use the icons in the bottom left-hand corner of the map to select by section, row, or by "painting". Hold shift to Paint. Hold shift + e to Erase.
To add seats from multiple events: To add several seats from different performance dates/times into the same basket, make the seat selection on the first event and then select another performance date from the left-hand calendar or event list and add more seats.
For events in which seats have been selected, a blue bar will be displayed in the calendar or event list (above left).
Seat History
Seat history is tracked for a subset of actions affecting Nliven’s database table of seats. When viewing various maps in Nliven such as sell tickets, edit seat holds and edit seat prices, the seat history is available for review.
The following actions cause a row(s) to be inserted into a seat’s history table:

Sale of a seat

Void (cancel) of a seat
-
Editing a seat hold class via the edit holds tool.

Editing a seat price level via the edit price levels tool.
When hovering over a seat and pressing the “i” key for more details, a box will display. Along with other seat information, you will see a line item - “seat history”.
When clicking on “View Seat History” a new model will display a line-by-line History.
Applying a promotion for multiple orders: Select the promo before selecting seats on the first event. Once you proceed to seat selection at the next event, the promo will automatically be applied. Filtering changes made in the “seat types” drop-down menu will also be applied across all events you select seats for.
Buy Tickets: After seats have been selected, click the blue "Buy Tickets" button at the bottom of the page.
Basket Page
On the basket page, you can review the details of the seats you have selected.
You can also “Change Price Type", "Change Promo", or "Remove Items". To apply one of these actions to a ticket, follow the steps below.

Check the box next to the seat you would like to amend. Check the box at the top of the selection to select all items in the basket.

Select the "Actions" menu next to the change/add seat button.

Choose to change Price Type, Promo or Remove Items.

Promo configuration details are provided on the Create/Edit Promos in an Event Template page.

Select the Change/Add Seats button to be taken back to the seat map page where you can make changes to the inventory previously selected.
Add-Ons: Select and add any configured merchandise by entering the desired quantity.
To add a note: Enter the information in the "Notes" field at the bottom of the page. This content will populate in the "Notes" section of the order after checking out, as well as in invoices related to Saved Baskets. Further details are provided on the Single User Group Sales/Saved Baskets Process page. This option is also available at the checkout page. Any text entered at the basket page will also populate in the "Notes" section of the checkout page.

If you have added seats from multiple events to your basket, at the basket page you will see an indication above the seat info table of the number of events and tickets in your basket.

If you select “Change/Add Seats” and had a promotion applied, that promotion will no longer be applied at the seat map page and would need to be selected again.

Once you have confirmed all order items are correct, click the blue "Proceed to Checkout" button.
Checkout Page

The checkout page requires a delivery method (configuration details are provided on the Create/Edit Delivery Plans & Delivery Methods page), customer details, and payment type (configuration details are provided on the Create/Edit Payment Settings - Comp Types & Custom Payment Methods page).

When utilizing Nliven's Point of Sale functionality, the "Point of sale" delivery method will automatically print hard tickets via a Boca printer.

Payment methods "Payment Terminal" and "Credit Card - Swipe" can be used to take credit card payments (further details are provided on the Point of Sale Functionality in the Nliven Web Application page). “Credit Card Manual”, “Cash”, “Check” and “Complimentary” are also available.

Use the "Customer Search" field to populate the customer details if this customer has already purchased through Nliven or enter them manually.
Assign a Partner: If accessing "Sell Tickets" via the Point Of Sale or Group Sales channels, privileged users can assign a Partner to the order in the "Partner" section. Start typing the Partner name to bring up the necessary Partner. This allows any commissions associated with the order to be attributed to a Partner and a Partner record to be stamped on the order for reporting purposes. For further details on Partners, please visit the Create/Edit Partners page.
Completing the order: Click the blue "Purchase" button. This will generate an "Order Confirmation Email" to be sent to the customer. This can be customized by event series (configuration details are provided on the Edit Event Template - Settings Tab page). If the order was placed using the delivery method "Print at home" or "Email", an email containing the customer's tickets will also be sent. Emails can be customized by event series.
Reissuing Barcodes: If a customer claims to lose their ticket, you can void their original barcode and reissue a new barcode without cancelling the seat and re-adding it to the order. This can be done via the order details page.
- Select an order using the order list drop-down.
- Click on the blue order ID link.
- Navigate to the “tickets” tab at the top of the screen.
- Once the order has opened, click on the actions drop-down. Click on Reissue bar codes. You will be asked to confirm.
- Note: This feature is only available for Nliven primary events.
POS Product Description
Product descriptions can now be toggled on/off on the POS review basket page.
Saved Baskets: is used in Nliven to make reservations. This functionality can be used by the Box Office to reserve tickets for Group Sales and Individuals.
Using Saved Baskets enables the Box Office to enter the reservation record and email out an invoice to the customer which includes a “Make Payment” button for ease of purchase.
Split Payments
Paying by multiple methods: This feature allows for the use multiple payments when completing a purchase. This includes multiple credit cards, or a mix of different payment methods (i.e. credit card and gift certificate).
To use the split payment option: Select the seats you would like to purchase.

Click to buy the tickets.

You will be taken to the review basket page.
-
Click the “Purchase” button.
-
Fill in the customer details.
-
In the Secure Payment box, amend the amount to a figure LESS THAN the order total. Once this has been done an ‘Apply Payment’ button will appear.

Select payment type and enter any payment details. When this button is applied, it will allocate payment 1 to the order (for credit/debit card this will pre-authorise the transaction).

Subsequent payment boxes will now appear until the balance of the order has been satisfied.

The order summary box on the right hand side of the screen will display payments made and the balance outstanding.

When full payment has been applied, users can click ‘Purchase’ to complete the order.
-
A payment confirmation page will appear. This will display the multiple payment methods used for the purchase.

Email confirmations will also display the breakdown of payment types.
TOP TIPS
-
You cannot apply a partial payment and save a basket. The ‘Save Basket’ button is only available when there are no payments attached to the order.

Comp payment method is not available when using split payment.
-
Split Payment is not available for Worldpay users.
