From the Nliven admin home page, click on the "Events" tab in the left-hand navigation menu. Select “Event Templates”. Find the Event/Show you would like to create Price Types for. A Price Type: is used to apply different criteria to tickets for an Event.
Discounted rates for specific event-goers can be set up based on a discount off the Adult or Standard full price. Price Types default as “Adult”. This can be customized to Standard or another Price Type name within character limit constraints. All other Price Types (ie, Under 18’s, Senior, etc.) are created by applying a discount off the full-priced “Standard” rate.
Create a Price Type
To set up a new Price Type: Click "+ New Price Type" on the right-hand side of the information page.
Enter the following fields:
Name: Assign a name to a new Price Type. This name displays when the specific Price Type is selected by the customer or Nliven User. Depending on Sales Channels selected (details below), it appears at the basket page of both the “Sell Tickets” checkout flow and during the consumer checkout process.
Apply Promotion: Toggle on (blue) to see a list of Promos associated with the Event Template.
-
Select the Promo that has been created in your Event Template that will specify the parameters of the Price Type (using the "Multiples of" setting in the Promo). Further details on Promos are provided in the Create/Edit Promos in an Event Template page.
-
For example, if you'd like to allow consumers to purchase an unlimited quantity of tickets, but only receive a discount for 4 of the tickets in their basket, the system will allow them to only apply the Promo to 4 of the tickets. Additional tickets will be offered at the regular price.
- Contact the Ticketing Services department for further details.
Default Discount: If not enabling a Promo, enter the discount amount. This can be set as a percentage or flat rate discount. Select the discount option from the drop-down menu. Amounts can be edited in the Standard Price Table before Events are created and by enacting a Price Change after Events have been created (further details provided in the Create Price Changes in an Event Template page).
Available at these Sales Channels: Check the boxes of the Sales Channels at which the Price Type should be available. An unchecked Sales Channel will not display the Price Type option.

To edit an existing price level: Click the pencil icon on the right-hand side of the existing Price Level name.
Archive Price Type: While editing a Price Type, check the box to archive a Price Type and remove it from available sales channels.
Practical Example
Setting up an Under-18s Price Type enables an Event to offer a new discounted rate for Under 18-year-olds. A £5 discount will be applied and deducted from the Adult/Standard price when the Price Type is selected at the consumer basket page.
