Promos: are any form of revised ticket pricing. A Promo code can be used to discount tickets or to divide inventory and track campaigns. Every Promo needs one or many rules, which include pricing type, Fee Set, and applicable Events. For detailed instructions on configuring Promos and Promo Rules, visit the Create/Edit Promos in an Event Template page.
Top Tip : If your Promo means a change in the face value of a ticket you will need to create a new Price Table and reprice the Price Levels that the Promo will apply to. If your Promo needs a new set of Fees, you will need to create a new Fee Set with the relevant Fees. Once these steps are complete, you can create Promo Rules and link your Price Table and Fee Set to your Promo.
Contact the Ticketing Services department for further details or guidance.
STEP BY STEP: Promo - Price Table - Fee Set Configuration
Step 1: Does your promo mean a change in the face value of the ticket and not by the same flat amount or percentage across every Price Level?
If so, create a Price Table and reprice the Price Levels accordingly.
Step 2: Does your promo need a new Fee Set?
If yes, create a new Fee Set with the relevant fees.
Step 3: Configure your Promo
Configure your Promo (complete details provided in Create/Edit Promos in an Event Template page). When done, click "Create Promotion".
Go back into the newly created Promo (from your promotions list by clicking the pencil icon to edit).
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Here you will see Promotion Rules – Click on “+ New Rule”
Step 3: Configure your Promo Rule
Configure your Promo Rule (complete details provided in Create/Edit Promos in an Event Template page).
Configure the following fields based on what you have created per the above:
- Limit Type: Choose from drop down list based on selection during Promo creation (Hold, Price Level, etc.)
-
Pricing Type: This promo is using a newly created price table, so select “Table” as the Pricing Type. This will then display the Price Table from the dropdown list, select your newly created price table.
-
Fee Set: This is where you will select your newly created Fee Set from the drop-down menu.
-
Finally, configure your List of Events (performances) for which this promo will be valid for using the Inclusive, Exclusive or Filter options.
Once ALL of these steps are complete, you have linked your PRICE TABLE and FEE SET to your PROMO and the configuration of your promo is complete.
Override Delivery Plan of Event Template on a Promo
If you have a Promo that needs a different “Delivery Plan” from the plan that was configured for the Event Template, you can assign any of the “Delivery Plans” that have been set up on the account for use in the Promo (further details provided in Create/Edit Delivery Plans & Delivery Methods page).
- While editing a promo, scroll down to “Delivery Plan”.
- The drop-down menu will default to “Use Event Template”.
- Assign a different “Delivery Plan” specifically for this promo, For example, Will Call Only.
- Hit the Blue “Save Promotion” button.
The following Promo/Promo Rule configuration issues often come up:
- If you are not seeing a Promo visible in the proper sales channel, check that the proper sales channels are checked in the Promo on the Event Template
- Make sure both your Promo and all active Promo Rules within it are actually configured as “Active” and are within the valid date range
- Make sure if you want a Promo Rule to apply to all Events on an Event Template, you have made the Event list “exclusive” rather than “inclusive” without any Events added to the list
