In a Venue Configuration, General Admission (GA) sections are areas that are either standing room only, or have unreserved seats that attendees can sit in freely on a first come first served basis.
In Nliven, GA map sections utilize "seats" to control capacity. There are multiple steps needed to successfully create an event with GA seating in Nliven, which differ depending on whether the map has only GA seats or has mixed Reserved and GA seating. Additionally, there are some limitations on what actions are possible to take with GA seats.
Create General Admission Events
A Venue Configuration with only General Admission seating will look like the below, with each dot representing a “seat” which will make up the capacity of the venue.
This map will not be visible to the customer.
Event Template Creation
When using a completely GA Venue Configuration, General Admission Mode should be turned on to eliminate the map view from the purchase flow. The General Admission Mode toggle is located on the Create Event Template pop up, where the General Admission Mode should be toggled on (blue).
Further information on how to create an Event Template can be found on the Create or Edit an Event Template page.
Sales View
When the General Admission Mode has been toggled on, the Point of Sale and Web ticket sales screen will not display a seat map for the events. Instead, modules for each Price Level will be displayed, with the option to select the number of tickets to add to the basket from each Price Level.
Sales Background Image Configuration
When an event only has GA seats, it is possible to add a background image to display behind the Price Level module(s) on the POS and Web sales pages. To configure this background image, go to the Event Template. In the Settings tab on the Basic Info page there is an Images section at the bottom where images can be uploaded. The background image for GA Mode should be 1440 x 1024 pixels, in JPG format. More details about image requirements is provided on the Images Required for Account & Event Template Setup page.
Once a GA Mode Background Image has been uploaded and saved, then it will display behind the ticket modules on the sales pages.
Create Mixed Reserved and General Admission Events
A Venue Configuration with both Reserved and General Admission seating will look something like the below, with each dot representing a “seat” which will make up the capacity of the venue.
The individual “seats” in the GA section of the map will not be visible to the customer.
Event Template Creation
For a venue that contains both Reserved seating and General Admission sections, do not toggle on General Admission mode when creating the Event Template.
Further information on how to create an Event Template can be found on the Create or Edit an Event Template page.
Sales View
On a mixed Reserved and GA venue the GA seats will appear as a clickable section on the POS and Web sales map.
Click on the GA section to select how many GA tickets to buy.
Price Level Restrictions
Only one Price Level can be applied per GA section on mixed Reserved and GA maps. When the map is being built, a separate GA section must be created on the map for each different Price Level that will be used. When placing a mixed Reserved and GA map request, please include the number of Price Levels/sections needed for GA and what the name and capacity of each section should be.
General Admission Event Restrictions
- It is not possible to place a Seat Alert on a General Admission seat.
- If events are General Admission only, then it is not possible to create an Event Plan for those events.
- Packages cannot be created if the Promo in the main Event Template is using General Admission seats. If the Promo in the main event template is using Reserved seats, then the Package can include General Admission seats as the Included Items.
